The standard we work to

We build and maintain this site to the accessibility standards used to judge a website under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508. In plain terms, the site is built to work for someone who cannot see it, cannot use a mouse, or needs it read out loud to them.

What we have done on this site

• Meaningful alternative text on images that carry information, and decorative graphics hidden from screen readers so they do not create noise.
• A visible keyboard focus indicator on every link, button and form field, so keyboard and switch users can always see where they are.
• A skip link so keyboard users can jump straight to the main content.
• Page landmarks and a heading structure that assistive technology can navigate.
• Text and background colours checked so the words stay readable for visitors with low vision or colour blindness.
• Form fields with visible labels, clear error messages, and autocomplete support.
• Reduced-motion support, so animation is stopped for visitors whose device requests it.
• An accessibility toolbar, available from the icon on every page.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is not a one-time fix. We re-scan this site on a regular schedule, and we correct issues as they are found. Third-party content that we embed but do not control, such as payment checkout pages, may not always meet the same standard.
